Signal® Radio Planning Family of Tools

SignalPro® + Network Design Add-On Module
The principal building block of a comprehensive line of wireless network engineering tools, it is appropriate for any system, including broadband wireless WiMAX, LTE & Wi-Fi, cellular, and other mobile radio systems. It offers all of the study types you need to design a basic wireless network, including area studies, link/point-to-point studies and route studies. With the Network Design Module you have a carrier-class design tool, complete with automatic system layout, automatic traffic loading and automatic frequency planning - putting the Power of Smart Planning to work for you.
EDX SignalPro is a rigorous wireless network engineering tool. At the core of the tool, you’ll find a comprehensive set of RF propagation prediction models, appropriate for systems from 30 MHz to 60 GHz. EDX SignalPro lets you select from an extensive set of over 20 published propagation models, customize the coefficients of selected empirical models, or create your own proprietary propagation models with an external dynamic link library. All models have adjustable environmental and reli- ability parameters. Further, you can select a unique model for every base station sector in your study, or use a single model for the entire study. Additional model options are available in EDX’s Add-On Modules and via connectivity to integrated tools such as Siradel’s VolcanoLAB.
For refined accuracy, the physical/deterministic models can consider the attenuation and height values of underlying clutter databases at the receive location or at each study point.
SignalProof™
SignalProof™ maximizes the value of your engineering studies calculated with SignalPro™, making them available for post-processing purposes. Embed this toolkit into your web service and automate service level pre-qualification for your network subscribers. Likewise, use this toolkit to enhance the information provided to your call center customer support team.
Signal™
Signal™ is a comprehensive, general-purpose, wireless network engineering tool. It offers all of the study types you need to design a basic wireless network – area studies, link/point-to-point studies, and route studies. SIGNAL also incorporates the finest telecom-specific mapping features, meticulous equipment data storage capabilities, and convenient utility functions. SIGNAL combines the capabilities of the general-purpose, area-wide study tool, MSITE™, with the general-purpose, link analysis-only tool, TPATH™, to give you a comprehensive, basic engineering tool. Make SIGNAL Even More Powerful
Enhance SIGNAL with specialized tools that add powerful functionality for design and optimization of your wireless network including:
Microcell/Indoor Module which includes:
- Ray-Tracing Propagation Models
- Point Studies
- RMS Delay Spread
- Multi-Story Studies
- Time and Spectrum Signature Displays
- Building Editor – making it easy to manage building databases.
SignalMX™
SignalMX™ is a network design application that specifically addresses the needs of designing, maintaining and optimizing mesh and WiFi networks. Intelligently scale mesh network design by performing easily implemented area studies and mesh link analyses, which reduces your time to deployment and increases your return on investment.
SignalMX provides an innovative way to effectively model the 3D environment. A Clutter CarvingTM technique is used to provide a realistic description of the street can- yon propagation environment in which the network oper- ates. The technique provides network designers with the ability to build a reasonable location-specific model of the environment without purchasing building/structure databases. Just a few simple steps:
- Add relevant height values to terrain, based on under- lying clutter categories
- Overlay the resulting 3D clutter model with GIS data, such as streets/major roads/highways/ interstates
- Assign the width of the “carve”, specific to each GIS category. The GIS data “carves” into the 3D model, back to the terrain height accordingly
MSITE™
MSITE™ is a general-purpose wireless network engineering tool. It offers very detailed area wide study types needed to design a basic wireless network . MSITE also incorporates the finest telecom-specific mapping features, meticulous equipment data storage capabilities, and convenient utility functions.
TPATH™
TPATH™ is a link analysis-only tool. It offers a very detailed link analysis for point-to-point studies. Calculate a full microwave path analysis including path profile, rain and fade outage, percent availability, dispersive fade margin, antenna diversity reception, and cross-link interference. All links are bi-directional, and you can edit your link studies by selectively adding trees, buildings, or terrain elevation modifications.
