Digital Terrain and Clutter Data

TeleResources is able to provide digital terrain and clutter data for use with our radio propagation planning tools. This data is available within Australia and overseas. By ordering this data through us we are able to ensure that it can be used by our software.

Our partners for the provision of this data include:

Geoscience Australia

As Australia's national mapping agency, Geoscience Australia is responsible for producing the NATMAP and GEODATA public interest mapping products with a national coverage. These include a range of topographic, thematic and atlas products covering the entire continent.

Data from Geoscience Australia is available in a number of forms including:

GEODATA 9 Second DEM Version 2

A gridded DEM computed from topographic information including point elevation data, elevation contours, stream lines and cliff lines. The grid spacing is 9 seconds in longitude and latitude (approximately 250 metres).

Version 2 is based on the ANUDEM 5.0 elevation gridding program developed by the Centre for Resource and Environmental Studies (CRES) at the Australian National University. Improvements made to this program and the inclusion of several additional continent wide data sources have greatly enhanced the accuracy of the product.

Eighteen Second Grid

Data is regularly gridded at 18 seconds of latitude and longitude (approximately 500 metres). The source data for this grid is the spot elevation data held in the TOPO-250K Series 1 Relief theme.

Gridding is complete for: parts of north Queensland, all of New South Wales, all of Victoria, south-east South Australia, south-west Western Australia, all State capital cities and selected other Australian cities.

Three Second Grid

Data is regularly gridded at 3 seconds of latitude and longitude (approximately 100 metres). The source data for this grid is the spot elevation data held in the GEODATAS TOPO-250K Series 1 Relief theme.

Data are available for: the coastal strip running from southern Queensland to the Victorian border, most State capital cities and small areas in the Northern Territory.

RMSI

RMSI is a leading global supplier of geo-data for wireless network planning and design. RMSI provides DEM/DTM, Land Use/Clutter, Vectors/Linear databases, 3-D building heights and off-the-shelf geo-data products, and is also able to assist clients in source data acquisition.

RMSI offers geodata solutions for fixed wireless (WLL, LMDS) and mobile wireless (GSM, CDMA, TDMA and UMTS) networks. The solutions can be used in a variety of wireless applications, ranging from preliminary regional network planning and coverage analysis to micro-cell design, line-of-sight analysis, network expansion and site acquisition.
