RTT Programmes Limited

Since 1986, RTT has been specialising in providing an international client base with technology assessment and technology related seminar programmes. The company's knowledge and experience is principally in mobile terrestrial communications. RTT works closely with members of the Mobile Experts Groups within ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute), and the international academic, scientific and industrial research community.

RTT's research focus centres primarily on the issues of 3G design and implementation, appliance design, air interface and network design - areas of particular expertise include RF and IF processing (3G DSP), noise and gain budgets (coding gain, spreading gain, Rake gain), device options (RF, IF and baseband), design analysis, protocols and 3G network performance optimisation.

RTT publishes regular white papers on Hot Topics relevant to the industry.

The February 2004 Hot Topic is The Impact of Quality on Session Length. This paper looks at how the addition of multimedia components in a session between customers affects quality and describes ways in which this can be measured.

Private Mobile Radio

Updated -- January, 2003 -- edition of the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center's (NLECTC) excellent publication titled "Understanding Wireless Communications in Public Safety" - a Guide to Technology, Issues, Planning, and Management. While this 174 page document is focused on the US market it contains an overview of technology and applications relevant to engineers and managers regardless of location.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology Overview Version 1.0; April 4, 2003 The document provides an overview of Bluetooth technology. It emphasizes Bluetooth profiles and high-level protocols, as the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) mostly rely on them. Thus, the information in this document should serve as a foundation for software application developers.
