Paul Budde, Principal, Paul Budde Communications
Maurie Dobbin is the founder and Managing Director of TeleResources. He possesses over thirty years of experience in telecommunications markets and is an acknowledged expert in the wireless communications industry.
Mr Dobbin has consulted to many of the world's international telecommunications operators, major manufacturers and government organisations since 1981. Maurie is a frequent speaker at international conferences on topics ranging from business strategy through technology developments to providing superior customer service.
Since 1995 he has led workshops in Cannes, Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Singapore and Warsaw on business planning in mobile communications attended by hundreds of delegates. Most recently he ran a one-day workshop on Broadband Wireless in New Delhi, India.
Mr Dobbin has many years of experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams engaged in major telecommunications technical studies and projects.
His experience with mobile markets extends back more than fifteen years. During that time he was the Wireless Team Leader for Hutchison in their bid to become Australia's second general carrier (Kalori 1991). He also helped develop the marketing plan for Vodafone's successful application to become Australia's third GSM carrier (1992).
He found an operational partner for Escorts Limited of India which enabled them to acquire GSM licences for three regions in that country (1995). He also directed a landmark study for the Australian Communications Authority to investigate digital mobile technologies best (terrestrial and satellite) able to provide a 'reasonably equivalent' service to the analogue AMPS network for rural and remote Australia (1998). The study recommended the implementation of cdmaOne.
Mr Dobbin is an expert in the emerging field of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO's). In 2002 he helped co-found Australia's first Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) which now supports more than twenty MVNOs and 140,000 retail customers.
Director of Consulting - Dr. David Vu
Dr David Vu is Director of Consulting, responsible for the consultancy business. He has over 25 years experience working in the telecommunications, business information and finance sectors as well as advanced technology R&D.
He has considerable experience in information and technology analysis, strategy and market development, business planning, market research and network design and implementation. He has worked on numerous projects involving computer systems, satellite, cellular, microwave and mobile data networks. He was instrumental in developing many products in the areas of voice, data, information and financial services.
Since joining TeleResources, David has undertaken a wide range of assignments covering business planning, strategy development, due diligence, market research and technology evolution.
Prior to joining TeleResources, he was with the telecommunications and information services company AAP Group where he held a number of senior positions. In his role as Business Manager, Strategic Products, he was responsible for developing financial information services; as Strategic Development Executive for strategic planning and business development of corporate information services, and as Development Manager for establishing the AAP national communications networks and developing communications products.
David has a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of NSW, Sydney. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Principal Conultant - Mukesh Tejwani
Mukesh is one of Australia's most experienced radio engineers having worked on many complex network design and implementation projects throughout ASEAN. As Principal Consultant Radio Engineering for TeleResources Mukesh is responsible for managing our engineering team in their delivery and support of innovative solutions for our clients.
Prior to joining TeleResources Mukesh held the position of Radio Solutions Manager for Ericsson Australia where he was responsible for putting together Radio network solution, based on the requirements, provided by the mobile network operators. This included pre-sales support for bids/proposals/RFI and RFP as well as post-sales/rollout support in terms of solution, base station & antenna system configurations.
Earlier Mukesh worked for UTStarcom in Hong Kong in Regional and Technical Marketing roles and New World PCS where he was Associate Director, Radio Systems & Functionality.
He has been an expert in UMTS 3G technology for almost ten years initially working with Lucent supporting the RF design and optimization of UMTS (3G) networks for the Asia Pacific Region.
Mukesh holds a Master of Science - Telecom, Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) – Honors, University of Bombay, Bombay, India.
Senior Technology Consultant - Minh Vu
Minh has over sixteen years experience in providing radio network design and optimisation services to 18 operators in Australia and around the world. He has provided technical leadership on projects as well as managing subject matter experts and application designers to ensure the coherency of end-to-end designs.
Minh reports to the Principal Consultant with specific responsibility for project management and the professional technical standards of our engineering team.
During his prior employment with Ericsson Australia Minh received the Excellence Engineer Award for the Dedicated Coverage and High Capacity solution that Telstra provided for the 2000 Sydney Olympics and a certificate of outstanding contribution to the Beijing Mobile Olympic Consultancy project in 2005.
Minh has worked as a senior consultant involved in network performance investigation for Vodafone Hong Kong and held the position of National IBC manager for the Hutchison Australia UMTS 2100 network design and optimisation project.
Minh has a Bachelor of Engineering Telecommunications from the University of Technology Sydney
