Examples of recent assignments

  • Preparation and evaluation of tenders for the provision of voice, data and Internet services within a global integrated network - for a Federal Government Department. This involved auditing current traffic and establishing future user requirements, auditing existing cost structure to form an evaluation benchmark, preparing a specification of functional and technical requirements, developing a comprehensive set of tender evaluation criteria and weightings, conducting evaluation of tenders and assessment reporting.

  • An assessment of which wireless and mobile satellite technology would be best suited to replace the cellular analogue AMPS system throughout Australia - for the Australian Communications Authority (ACA): . TeleResources recommended the introduction of cdmaOne, which has since been successfully implemented as a nationwide cellular technology by several Australian mobile operators

  • Participated in the design of a GSM 1800 network rollout across Australia and undertook site surveying and transmission network design for the implementation of the network –for a large systems integrator.

  • Advised the Swedish Government Regulator on the introduction of mobile competition into their market prior to their auction of GSM 1800 MHz spectrum, as part of an international consulting consortium.

  • A study of cellular mobile coverage along national and State highways and funding allocation strategy for the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts.

  • Advice on the technology issues involved in selecting the access network frequency band and equipment required to establish a wireless local loop network to complement a planned satellite offering – for an Australian carrier. In assessing the appropriate frequency and equipment, TeleResources reviewed the appropriateness of all key cellular, microwave and other wireless access technologies. In addition, TeleResources advised on the client’s possible target markets, likely market penetration for different market segments, user profiles and service requirements.

  • A needs assessment of a major Australian corporate’s NSW operations and site locations to recommend an optimal network architecture, future technology options and appropriate mobile data terminals to support their business. This required an evaluation of all key data network options including both fixed and mobile solutions, real time mobile positioning information and dispatch with a recommendation on the client’s best options. In addition, TeleResources reviewed the features, capability and availability of the key network options and advised on the optimal service providers for the client’s business.
