Skype challenges mainstream telcos with new VoIP service

It will only cost Australian consumers 6 cents for unlimited calls and a monthly fee of $3.20 under a new VoIP pricing plan called the "Skype Pro" package, which also includes a service called Skype To Go that enables customers to call an international number while only paying local rates.
Optus targets small business with VoIP services

Optus has released pricing plans for VoIP telephony services it believes will attract small businesses with DSL connection due to better quality than more consumer oriented services such as Skype.
Unwired introduces pre-paid broadband

Phone companies WorldxChange and BayCity Communications will be the first to offer regional and rural customers in New Zealand the option of using wireless voice calling with VoIP technology via "line-of-sight" technology covering an area up to 50km from Kordia's network of broadcast towers.
