Telstra takes government to court over WiMAX

After weeks of criticism aimed at the government for awarding the wireless Internet roll out of the Broadband Connect project to the OPEL consortium, Telstra has begun proceedings in the Federal Court against the Communications Minister Helen Coonan, alleging that she refused to give the company access to papers revealing how the winning tender was selected.
Austar elects to wait and watch

Despite earlier reports that Austar were looking to roll out a wireless broadband network in Australia, CEO John Porter has pulled back from those claims and confirmed that the company will not enter the market while the WiMAX business case remains untested.
Mint Wireless makes respectable ASX debut

Business technology provider Mint Wireless Ltd opened on the Australian stock exchange with an issue share price of 20 cents mainly due to the intellectual property rights it holds in a wireless software-based application that allows mobile businesses to securely and instantaneously process credit card payments.
BigAir unveils WiMAX network in Sydney
