Conroy to call CDMA shot

Senator Conroy confirmed he had received the results of an independent Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) audit which sets out whether Telstra's new Next G network is competent enough to replace its outgoing CDMA network.

In a move that gives Optus some of the wireless spectrum it needs to begin building the Broadband Connect network in regional Australia, Austar has sold its regional wireless broadband spectrum to the OPEL consortium for $65 million.
