Telstra puts Vodafone's hand up to cover OPEL demise

Telstra has pointed to Vodafone's network plans to increase its 3G coverage to 95 percent of Australians by the end of this year as an adequate alternative to the demise of the proposed OPEL network.
CDMA concerns persist

With the closure of Telstra's CDMA network already delayed 3 months to April 28 there is the further possibility that it could again be put on hold amid concerns that regional customers will still be left without adequate coverage from the new NextG network.
iPhone release rumor surfaces

The founder of local Apple community site MacTalk has reportedly been informed that Apple resellers will begin selling the iPhone in late June with access to multiple carriers and no lock-in contracts.
O'Sullivan still supports WiMAX

In response to the government's decision to dump the OPEL WiMAX project, Optus chief Paul O'Sullivan has warned that there will be no other solution for regional Australia in the medium term other than wireless and believes that decision makers will end up coming back to the same point in a year or two.
