The PixSense PSP platform is a turnkey hosted solution that delivers feature-rich, easy to use user generated content services for mobile subscribers.
With PixSense PSP, mobile operators can rapidly release UGC services such as high quality photo and video sharing to subscribers without significant capital expenditure. The platform consists of 3 major components: the PixSense mobile phone client, the PixSense web interface, and the PixSense PSP server.
PixSense Mobile Client
Subscribers use native camera phone software for capturing photos, videos, and other media, and PixSenses mobile client takes it from there. In the background, with no additional clicks, the software automatically categorizes the photo based on tags such as date and time, compresses it up to 90% beyond JPEG, and uploads it to the PixSense server for archiving. The PixSense mobile client is available on over 250 handsets and supports the following operating environments: - Symbian 7, Symbian 8, Symbian 9 most common on Nokia handsets and some Samsung and Sony Ericsson handsets
- J2ME available on most handsets and supported for Sony Ericsson, Nokia Series 40, and Motorola
- BREW 3.x available on most CDMA handsets including those from Samsung, Motorola, and LG
- Windows Mobile 5 and 6 available on handsets from many manufacturers including HTC, HP and Samsung
PixSense PSP server
The PixSense PSP server manages all aspects of communication, administration, and feature/functionality for the PixSense PSP platform, with these key features: - Interfaces transparently with operator infrastructure including SMSC, MMSC, WAP, and GPRS gateways for media exchange
- Supports all major billing and pricing models based on mobile operator requirements
- Ensures any size images or videos can be delivered regardless of MMS and WAP file size limitations
- Automatically adjusts digital media for various handset capabilities, including resolution, screen size, and format
- Archives photos, video, and other media based on operator requirements and provides subscribers with full control over access
- Enables operators to moderate content, such as managing what content is made public to ensure adherence to copyright, local laws, or regional customs
PixSense Web Interface
All media is automatically synchronized from the phone to the Web, so subscribers get immediate access to all of the same photos, video, and features when they log on from a PC. And since photos are stored in full resolution in native formats such as JPEG, they can be printed and monetized through PixSense partner sites. The PixSense website can be customized and integrated with partner networks and existing solutions.
