EDX SignalPro Version 7.2 released
January 27, 2010 – EDX Wireless, a recognized leader for RF planning tools, announced EDX® SignalPro® v7.2 and its related add-on modules are now available. With a continued commitment to innovation and flexibility, this release includes new and enhanced features for 4G network operators and their ecosystem partners.
The Network Design Add-On Module for EDX SignalPro includes a new section dedicated to LTE Systems. These specialized capabilities enable professional and efficient design, reconfiguration, and optimization of LTE (3GPP E-UTRA) wireless networks. With built-in support for LTE-specific profiles and band plans, setting up an LTE system is easier than ever. Further, specialized system engineering capabilities, such as automatic Cell Group ID assignment are included.
For 4G network designs, MIMO & Adaptive antenna array enhancements allow for MIMO-A (Space-Time Coding), MIMO-B (Spatial Multiplexing), and SDMA (Adaptive) antenna types to be uniquely selected for each transmitting sector. Also new is a powerful Monte Carlo simulation for LTE systems that allows for further exploration of network performance indicators, such as uplink CQI and interference statistics.
For general RF planning, there are new features to give EDX users even more flexibility. This includes a new interface to Siradel’s VolcanoLAB, additional K-factor considerations for link studies, expanded ray-tracing capabilities, additional P25 simulcast studies, and new internal spreadsheet features that provide an easy-to-use interface for working dynamically with equipment databases without leaving the EDX environment.
