Network Optimisation

The optimisation of cellular networks is a complex process particularly when the client has employed a multi-vendor approach to the deployment of the radio access network. Engineers need access to tools that not only support the major infrastructure vendors but can also assist in the optimisation of GSM, WCDMA and HSPA technologies.

Our tools of choice for this task are XEUS Pro and XEDA.

Aexio_diag

XEUS Pro offers customers the best GIS Optimization software solution in the marketplace with built in best practices for RF Optimization to deliver real engineering efficiency gains.

Xeus uses MapInfo and Google Earth to provide 2D and 3D mapping capabilities. Multi-band and multi-technology capabilities are included together with support to import cell sites from many multi-vendor data-sources such as TEMS™ Cel files, Ericsson BulkCM, Nokia RAML and more. With a framework that supports statistics, users can import their cell level KPIs for important correlation of their network quality.

Xeus Pro supports TEMS™ and Nemo™ drive test log-files. At a click of a button, KPI Reports are automatically generated as are key coverage and analysis plots. Xeus further incorporates smart algorithms to detect swapped antennas, pilot pollution, overshooting cells and missing neighbors. its advanced algorithms also trace back the root cause of dropped and blocked calls in the data.

XEDA, is a enterprise web-based Network Parameter Management Solution, that is applied based on our understanding of the need for mobile network operators to consistently maintain network parameters, especially in a multi-vendor network even through day to day network operations activities such as site rollouts and re-homing.

XEDA is an automated solution that parses Base Station Controller (BSC), Radio Network Controller (RNC) and Mobile Switching Network (MSC) parameter dump files retrieved from the Operating Support System (OSS). It performs daily consistency checks on the latest data and reports any inconsistency through its reporting module. If at any time, due to operational activities or human error, parameters become inconsistent, XEDA will detect these and prompt the user for corrective actions.

With a Change Request system built-in, corrective actions and parameter change histories can be tracked and verified, allowing Quality of Service maintenance and improvements to move from a hit and miss affair to a more definitive process.
